Ionic liquids, supercritical fluids & membrane technology for green extraction and separation processes
The chemical industry is under considerable pressure to drastically reduce the huge amounts of chemical wastes produced and the energy it consumes. One of the main objective of our work in this field is to develop new bio and catalytic processes for the fine chemical and pharmaceutical industries based on ionic liquids, carbon dioxide and membrane technology as combined reaction and separation media in such a way that these processes have minimal impact on the environment, and to make them sustainable enough not to rely on limited resources. In these industries, the use of this new technology could lead to enormous savings in waste generation and energy consumption, while providing high product quality (food-grade).
The use of neoteric solvents also allow a new way to stabilize biomolecules and Chemical Catalyst.
