Joaquín Quesada Medina is a Professor in the Department of Engineering Chemistry at the University of Murcia. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
(1991), with an Extraordinary Bachelor's Degree Award, and a Doctorate in Chemical Sciences, with the maximum qualification (Apt cum laude). He later got a postdoctoral assistantship of the Ministry of Education and Culture for the “Exchange of Research Personnel between Industries and Public Research Centers” that allowed him to carry out a stay of investigation of 5 months (1997) in the company Furfural Español, S.A., in its factory Alcantarilla (Murcia).

After his incorporation as a contracted professor (Faculty Assistant) in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Murcia in 1998 he opened two new lines research related to Organosolv extraction of lignocellulosic materials waste and the application of supercritical technology to obtain biodiesel.
His scientific production is summarized in more than 75 paper articles. Finally, it is worth highlighting his participation in more than 20 funded research projects in regional, national and European competitive public calls, acting as Principal Investigator in 9 of them.
